Eastern Regional Health Directorate (ERHD), Dhankuta is the major technical and administrative unit of health in the region. ERHD ensures proper delivery of preventive and curative health services through different health institutions in the region.
Tasks of RHD:
Introduction
Eastern Regional Health Directorate (ERHD) was established on the basis of the concept of regional development. The office is situated at Pokhara. ERHD is functioning under the organizational organogram of Ministry of Health and Population. It leads the central region in the area of health sector. Thus, it has a direct, strong functional relationship with Department of Health Services (DoHS), Department of Ayurveda (DoA) , Department of Drug Administration (DDA) and also, direct and indirect relationship with many other sectoral ministries and departments.
Objectives
Interim Constitution of Nepal - 2063 ensures basic health as the fundamental right of people. Thus, health is the basic right of people by law. Primary health care services will be provided according to the proclamation of the Alma Ata Declaration. Thus, ERHD has mainly the following objectives to serve people according to the spirit of the government and the people:
